The DPG10-1000B uses a controlled voltage pulse to drive current into the inductive device under test. As the current increases, the system captures voltage and current waveforms and calculates inductance at each current point. This produces a complete L(i) curve, showing both incremental inductance and saturation behaviour.
With its wide pulse width range, the instrument can characterize both high-frequency cores requiring very short pulses and larger iron-based cores that need longer pulses to reach the required current levels. The 1000 A capability makes it suitable for medium-to-large power inductors used in converters, rectifiers, PFC stages, motor drives and renewable-energy systems.
Its three measurement ranges allow precise testing of small components without sacrificing the ability to handle larger magnetic devices. The DPG10-1000B also includes DC resistance measurement, enabling verification of winding losses, copper quality and thermal design parameters.
This model is well-suited for design validation, research labs, production testing and incoming inspection environments where accurate magnetic characterization is required.
