The 7802e PCI Express RS-422, RS-485 Serial Interface is a robust interface adapter designed for industrial automation and control applications. Offering eight serial ports, the device is configurable for RS-422 and RS-485, supporting high data rates up to 921.6 Kbps. RS-422 mode ensures reliable communication over long distances (up to 4000 feet), while RS-485 mode allows connection of up to 31 devices per port, making it ideal for complex, multi-drop networks. The auto-enable feature in RS-485 mode simplifies setup by automatically managing the transmitter, eliminating the need for application software control and reducing the risk of bus contention or data corruption.
